I'm raising money to send kids with serious illnesses to camp through The Challenge, Abercrombie & Fitch Co.'s largest annual fundraiser. With over 3,000 attendees annually, The Challenge has raised more than $10 million to date. This year, all proceeds benefit SeriousFun Children's Network.
SeriousFun, founded by actor Paul Newman, is a global community of camps for kids with serious illnesses and their families. Specially-designed facilities and programs allow every child, no matter the medical condition, to experience the magic of camp, always free of charge.
I am a year-round staff member at Flying Horse Farms, a proud member camp of SeriousFun Children's Network. I have been on the team for more than 6 years. The children and families I have met have changed my life.
I'm kicking off my donations with a personal donation of $21.11. (My speediest personal record for a 5K - at the A&F challenge a few years ago- I have been trying to get back to this time for years).
*Make a donation in the amount you think I will run this year (You can only donate whole dollars). Use the message to Jackie field to include the specific time with minutes and seconds. If you guess my closest time (Just closest - over or under - this isn't Price is Right) to my actual 2017 Challenge race time, I will take you as my guest to the 2018 Challenge!
You can also support us by attending the A&F Challenge! Run/Walk the 5K or come enjoy the food and music at the event-featuring bands, unlimited food and drink and fun for the whole family-on Friday, Sept. 8 at the Abercrombie & Fitch Home Office.
